Your site already runs on a platform such as Vercel, Netlify, Wix or Shopify: the domain alone is enough. DNS management is included at no extra cost, and connecting takes two records supplied by the platform — an A record for the domain itself (@) and a CNAME for www.
Connect the domain
Add the domain on the platform
In your project's domain settings, add your domain. The platform then shows the records to create: keep that screen open.
Activate managed DNS
On the domain page, click “Activate managed DNS” if it is not already on. The block becomes “Managed DNS zone”.
Create the A record
Click “Add a record”, choose “Type” A, enter
@in “Name” and the IP address given by the platform in “Value”, then click “Add”.Create the www CNAME
Same steps with “Type” CNAME,
wwwin “Name” and the target given by the platform in “Value”. Leave the “Proxy” box unticked (“DNS only”): the platform issues the HTTPS certificate itself.Check on the platform
Go back to its domain screen and run the check. Changes do not take effect instantly: if it fails, try again a little later.
Values published by each platform (checked on 21 October 2026)
Scroll the table
| Platform | A (name @) | CNAME (name www) |
|---|---|---|
| Vercel | 76.76.21.21, or the address shown for your project | The target specific to your project, shown by Vercel |
| Netlify | 75.2.60.5 | Your Netlify subdomain (…netlify.app) |
| Wix | 185.230.63.107 | pointing.wixdns.net |
| Shopify | 23.227.38.65 | shops.myshopify.com |
The platform's screen comes first
These values can change. If your platform shows different ones, copy those instead. And leave the MX records alone: they carry your email.
If it doesn't work
- The platform reports a conflict: delete the old A or CNAME record that has the same name.
- The site shows a certificate error: check that “Proxy” is set to “DNS only”, then wait.
- The “Add a record” button does not appear: activate managed DNS first.
