Automatic installation for this solution is ready and currently going through our tests on a real server. Ordering will open as soon as validation is complete.
Baserow is an open-source (MIT) no-code database builder you run entirely on your own VPS. Think Airtable — spreadsheet-style rows and columns, multiple views, team collaboration — but without the per-seat pricing or vendor lock-in: your tables, attachments and API tokens stay on your server.
Baserow ships as a single all-in-one Docker image that bundles Django, Celery, Redis and PostgreSQL. One container, one volume mount, and the web UI is live in about 90 seconds. The interface lets any user create databases and tables without writing SQL: choose field types (text, number, date, file, formula, link to table…), add rows and switch between Grid, Gallery, Form and Kanban views on the same dataset.
Every table automatically exposes a REST API — no configuration required. Hook it into n8n, Zapier, Make or your own frontend using a token from your user settings. For development teams, Baserow's API also covers workspace, database and table management, so you can fully automate your internal tooling.
Replace scattered spreadsheets with a shared, permissioned Baserow database — customer contacts, project tracking, inventory management. Every table is queryable via REST API so you can also trigger automations or feed a dashboard from the same data.
Use Baserow as a managed data layer for a frontend or mobile app. Create tables through the UI, then call the auto-generated REST endpoints from your code. No schema migration scripts, no ORM setup — just the API token and a base URL.
Create a public-facing form view on any table and share the link. Responses land directly in your Baserow database, visible to your team in Grid view. You control who can read, edit or export the collected data — no third-party form provider involved.
Guide optimized for ServOrbit Cloud VPS.
In your ServOrbit client area, open Marketplace → Databases → Baserow and place the order. A fresh VPS is provisioned with Docker pre-installed and the Baserow container started. You receive a notification when the instance is ready.
Navigate to the URL shown in your client area (either a custom domain or the auto-assigned VPS subdomain). Baserow shows a registration page — the first account you create becomes the workspace admin. No preset password exists; you define your own credentials.
Click New database, give it a name and add your first table. Choose field types for each column — text, number, date, select, file attachment, formula or link to table — and start entering rows. The interface is fully in-browser; no SQL knowledge required.
Use the view selector to toggle between Grid (spreadsheet), Kanban, Gallery and Form views on the same table. Invite team members by email from the workspace settings and assign them a role: viewer, editor, builder or admin.
The registration page is shown only once — the first visitor to create an account becomes the workspace admin. Navigate to your instance URL immediately after delivery and create your credentials before anyone else does. Subsequent visitors will see the standard login page and cannot claim the admin role.
Go to Settings → API tokens, generate a token and note your Baserow base URL. Every table exposes its own REST endpoint: list rows with GET /api/database/rows/table/<id>/, create with POST, update with PATCH. Documentation is also available in-app at /api-docs/.
