Point a domain before deploying

Reactive Resume anchors its authentication URLs to APP_URL at first start — changing the domain afterwards breaks all account sessions and OAuth callbacks. Create your DNS A record pointing to the VPS IP (e.g. cv.yourdomain.com) and wait for propagation before deploying.

Deploy from the ServOrbit Marketplace

Log in for the first time

Open your URL and click Sign Up to create your account with email and password. Without an SMTP server configured, the verification link is printed to the application logs: docker compose logs reactive-resume | grep verify. Click the link to complete verification, then log in.

Create your first resume

Click the + button to create a new resume. Choose a template, fill in your sections (Summary, Experience, Education, Skills) using the left-panel editor, and preview in real time on the right. When you're ready, click Download to export a PDF — the PDF renders client-side, no waiting for a print server.

Share your resume publicly

In the resume settings, toggle Public Resume ON. Reactive Resume generates a shareable URL — https://cv.yourdomain.com/r/your-name — that always serves the latest version of your CV. Share this link in job applications or on LinkedIn instead of attaching a static PDF.

SMTP is not required to run Reactive Resume. Without it, account verification emails are printed to the application logs — run docker compose logs reactive-resume | grep verify to find the link. SMTP is recommended for multi-user deployments so that users can reset their passwords independently, but a personal single-user instance works without any email server.

Not without data loss. The APP_URL variable is embedded in authentication tokens and OAuth callback URLs from the first start. Changing it after the fact causes all existing sessions to break. If you must change the domain, you need to recreate the PostgreSQL volume, redeploy with the new URL and recreate all accounts.

Yes. Each user creates their own account and manages their own set of resumes. To restrict who can register after initial setup, set FLAG_DISABLE_SIGNUPS=true in the environment and restart.
