Does Planka require a domain name?

No. Planka works with a plain IP address. If you attach a domain, ServOrbit configures HTTPS automatically.

How do I log in for the first time?

Use email admin@planka.local and the generated password shown in your client area. Update your email and password from the profile settings right after first login.

How many users can I add to Planka?

Unlimited. Planka is MIT-licensed with no per-user fees — create as many accounts as you need from the admin panel.

How do I back up Planka?

Planka stores data in PostgreSQL and Docker named volumes (attachments, avatars). Back up both the database (pg_dump) and the volumes to preserve all project data.

Create the VPS

Choose a plan with at least 1 GB RAM and 10 GB SSD. The Planka template deploys the app and its PostgreSQL database in Docker — no domain required.

Retrieve your admin credentials

Once the VPS is active, open your client area and copy the generated admin password. The login email is [email protected].

Log in to Planka

Navigate to your VPS IP address in a browser. Enter [email protected] and the generated password. Change your email and password from the profile settings.

Create your first board

Click the + button on the dashboard to create a project and add a board. Name your lists (Backlog, In Progress, Done), add cards and start managing your work visually.
