Frequently asked questions

What is Plesk? +

Plesk is a hosting control panel: from a single web interface, you manage your sites, domains, mailboxes, databases and SSL certificates, without a command line. The license is tied to your server's IP address and billed by edition according to the number of domains managed.

Does Plesk run on Linux and Windows? +

Yes. Plesk runs on Linux (Ubuntu, Debian, AlmaLinux, Rocky…) as well as on Windows Server. It's the only major panel to cover Windows: it's the right choice if you host .NET applications or sites that require a Windows environment.

Which Plesk edition to choose: Web Admin, Web Pro or Web Host? +

Web Admin manages up to 10 domains (a single-site server or a few sites). Web Pro goes up to 30 domains and adds tools for developers and agencies. Web Host lifts the limit (unlimited domains) and targets hosts and resellers. Web Pro and Web Host can include CloudLinux to isolate accounts.

How does the license tied to my server's IP work? +

The Plesk key is attached to the public IP address of the server on which you install it. You choose your edition, provide that IP at checkout, and your activation code is sent to you by email. If your server's IP changes, contact support to re-link the license.

Can Plesk be installed automatically on a ServOrbit VPS? +

Yes. If you order a VPS Cloud from us, Plesk can be installed automatically — you don't have to enter the IP address manually or install the key. On a server you already own, you provide its IP and install the supplied key in Plesk.

Plesk or cPanel: which to choose? +

Choose Plesk for Windows, a unified developer-oriented interface, or per-edition pricing (by domains). Choose cPanel/WHM for large-scale Linux shared hosting billed by accounts. Both are available here, tied to your server's IP.
