A 2 vCPU / 2 GB RAM VPS under Ubuntu 24.04 supports a team of up to 15. The Docker image bundles Playwright with Chromium for archiving, raising RAM usage to ~400–600 MB under load. On a 1 GB VPS, set DISABLE_NEXT_GENERATION_ARCHIVAL=true to keep the footprint under 256 MB.
Choose the domain before deploying
Linkwarden anchors NEXTAUTH_URL into session cookies on first boot — the domain must be set before deployment. Create an A record pointing to the VPS IP and wait for propagation before launching.
Deploy from the Marketplace
In your ServOrbit client area, open the Marketplace, Collaboration & Productivity category, enter the chosen domain and launch the Linkwarden deployment. Automation installs Docker, generates the session secret and database password, and starts the stack behind nginx with a Let's Encrypt TLS certificate.
Create the first account
Open your configured URL and click Sign Up. Enter your email and password — the first account becomes the owner automatically. Go to Settings → Users immediately to close sign-ups if you want invitation-only access.
Install the extension and invite your team
Install the Linkwarden browser extension for Chrome or Firefox. Sign in with your instance URL and credentials, then send invitation links to team members from Settings → Users and organize your first shared collections.
