Windmill is an open-source developer platform that turns code (Python, TypeScript, Go, Bash, SQL) into production-ready workflows, scheduled jobs, internal APIs and auto-generated UIs.
Unlike no-code tools, Windmill targets teams that want to write real code while offloading the orchestration, secret management, scheduling and UI scaffolding. Deploy a Python function and Windmill infers its input form, exposes it as an API endpoint, and adds it to the catalogue.
Self-hosted on your VPS, Windmill keeps your scripts close to your internal databases, avoids leaking credentials to a third-party, and removes per-execution billing. The engine is written in Rust, so it is fast, lightweight, and designed for self-hosting from day one.

Deploy from the Marketplace
Select Windmill in your ServOrbit client area under Marketplace → Automatisation & Workflows → Windmill and click Deploy. The provisioning playbook starts the Windmill server, one default worker and one native worker against a PostgreSQL 16 database.
Log in and change the default password
Open the URL provided, log in with [email protected] / changeme, then immediately go to Settings → Users and set a strong password. Windmill has no rate-limiting on the login page by default.
Write and deploy your first script
Click New Script, choose Python or TypeScript, write your function. Windmill auto-detects the parameter types and generates an input form. Click Deploy to make it runnable.
Turn your script into a flow
In the Flow builder, add your script as a step, chain it with others, add error handlers and conditional branches — all without leaving the browser.
Schedule or expose as webhook
From the script or flow page, click Schedule to add a cron trigger, or Webhook to get a signed HTTP endpoint that any external tool can call.
