.ae registry rules

What the .ae registry asks of anyone registering a name, rule by rule, with the source of each statement and the date we read it.

What the .ae registry requires

The registry: aeDA
The .ae is run by the .ae Domain Administration (.aeDA), part of the TDRA, the UAE's telecommunications and digital government regulator. The registry sets the rules; ServOrbit registers your .ae through a partner registrar.

Open to any registrant
Individual or company, wherever you are based: registering directly under .ae requires neither a presence in the UAE nor a local administrative contact.
Source: aeDA policy, read on 13 October 2026; registry conditions read every night from our partner registrar.
No supporting documents
No documents to provide and no prior validation: your order follows the same path as for any extension without conditions.

First come, first served
The registry allocates each name to the first applicant. Check availability before you build a brand, a logo or a campaign on a name.

.co.ae is not offered
A .co.ae requires a UAE trade license or a trademark registered in the UAE. ServOrbit does not offer it: your name is registered directly under .ae.

A .ae WHOIS that reads the registry
The .ae registry does not publish an RDAP service, but it has a public WHOIS. Our .ae WHOIS queries it and keeps only the registrar, the status and the name servers: the names of the registrant and their contacts are never shown.

Check whether your .ae is available

What this page does not tell you

  • Whether a given name is free, reserved or sold at a premium price: the domain search tells you, at the moment you search.
  • The registry can change its rules. Each rule is dated from the day we read it; where anything differs, the registry's own text prevails.
