Which Plesk Edition Should You Choose: Web Admin, Web Pro or Web Host?

Plesk comes in three editions — Web Admin, Web Pro and Web Host — which all run the same control panel on both Linux and Windows. What sets them apart is the number of domains managed and the tools included. This guide helps you choose the right edition for your server, without paying for capabilities you don't need.

Three editions, one and the same panel

Web Admin, Web Pro and Web Host share the same unified Plesk interface: managing sites, domains, e-mail, databases and SSL certificates from a single screen. All three run just as well on Linux (Ubuntu, Debian, AlmaLinux, Rocky…) as on Windows Server — Plesk remains the only major panel to cover Windows. The difference comes down to scope: how many domains you can host, and which tools are available.

The 3 Plesk editions at a glance

EditionDomainsFor whom
Web AdminUp to 10Single-site server or a few sites (personal / business)
Web ProUp to 30Developers and multi-site agencies (CloudLinux available)
Web HostUnlimitedHosting providers and resellers (CloudLinux available)

How to decide, in practice

  • You host a single site or a handful of domains: Web Admin is enough (10 domains).
  • You are a developer or agency with several client projects: Web Pro (30 domains) and its professional tools.
  • You resell hosting or manage many domains: Web Host, with no domain limit.
  • You need to host third parties cleanly: go for Web Pro or Web Host and add CloudLinux to isolate each account.
  • You need Windows Server: any Plesk edition will do — it is the only major panel to support it.

Linux or Windows, and where does CloudLinux fit in?

The Linux/Windows choice has no bearing on the edition: all three run on both systems. CloudLinux, on the other hand, is an isolation layer (LVE technology) that keeps an overly greedy site from penalising the others — it only makes sense if you host several clients. It is available with Web Pro and Web Host, but not with Web Admin, which targets single-client use.

Order your Plesk licence

01

Choose the edition

On the Plesk Licences page, select Web Admin, Web Pro or Web Host according to your number of domains.

02

Provide your server's IP

The licence is tied to the public IP address of the server (VPS or dedicated) where you will install Plesk.

03

Pay and activate

Your activation code is sent to you by e-mail; install it in Plesk. On a ServOrbit VPS, installation can be automatic.

Still torn between Plesk and cPanel/WHM? Count your domains (the Plesk model) against your client accounts (the cPanel model): the former bills by edition according to domains, the latter by number of accounts. The full comparison is linked below.
